Maybe one day! The England National Team training pitch! North West representatives

ISFA U`11 7-a-side National Championships

St George's Park

Our first ever appearance in the ISFA Nationals was a very enjoyable yet successful experience. Visiting the 330 acre England Football National Centre was very inspirational and the boys were in awe of everything they could see.

Eighteen winning teams from various regions were placed in three groups. The standard was high and we quickly found out that the fixtures were going to be very competitive. After playing five schools, we finished the group in second place after winning two games and drawing three.

After winning the quarter final 2-1, we were looking forward to the semi-final. Leading 2-1 with 35 seconds to go, our opponents equalised and the match progressed to a penalty shoot out. Our first penalty crashed against the underside of the crossbar and agonisingly bounced on the line. All the other penalties were converted and we were out. Despite obvious disappointment, we drew the next game to finish joint third in the Nationals.

Overall, we must be very proud of what we achieved. To remain unbeaten all the way through the matches is outstanding. The boys always find a way to fight back when behind and work tirelessly to pressurise our opponents. I am sure the boys will have fond memories of a fantastic day.
