ISA North U11 Netball Tournament, Hulme Hall Grammar School

Monday 4th March

After a busy week of sport, the girls were ready for what was to come. They stormed their first game against Hale Prep, scoring 5 goals to take the win. We then went onto the Astro turf for our second match and the slippy court completely threw our fluid game play. We only just pulled back to draw the match 2-2 against Red House. After a pep talk, we came back in the third game against a strong side from the Grange, but held our composure and dominated the game, winning 2-0. Next game was back in the sports hall and played with confidence to take the game 8-0. Finally, with our passing back to full strength, we finished off our final group round with an 8-0 victory. We went into the Semi-Finals with our heads held high and took control. With only 8 minutes to decide, we fought hard and played with great determination, beating AESG 5-2. Into the final we went, against the Grange once more. This time, they were ready for us and took control of the game securing 2 goals in a row. We fought back to make it 3-3. It was then neck and neck, but the Grange managed to secure a goal in the final seconds to win 5-4. Our girls were not disheartened as they knew they had given it their all. They were extremely proud of their silver medals, and a place in the Nationals on Saturday 16th March. These girls’ should be so proud of their development and their performance throughout! Well done!
